(Tailoring, Weaving, Embroidery, Piggery, etc.) We provide practical skill development training to rural and tribal women and youth in areas such as tailoring, weaving, knitting, embroidery, piggery farming, and other income-generating trades. These vocational programs help them become self-reliant, open micro-enterprises, or join cooperatives and self-help groups (SHGs), thereby reducing poverty and unemployment at the grassroots level.
Rural Women Society (RWS) offers community-based counseling and support services for women, particularly those who are survivors of domestic violence, social neglect, or living with HIV/AIDS. Our trained counselors and outreach workers provide emotional support, legal referrals, information dissemination, and linkage with government welfare schemes to ensure women are not left behind due to stigma or discrimination.
We are committed to protecting and rehabilitating children who are orphaned, abandoned, or at risk. RWS aims to establish and operate Children’s Homes, Shelter Homes, and Aftercare facilities that provide a safe and nurturing environment along with access to education, healthcare, life-skills, and psychological support. These programs focus on restoring childhood dignity and preparing children for a better future.
To support working mothers, especially those from low-income or single-parent households, we provide day-care and crèche facilities. These centers ensure children receive proper care, nutrition, and early learning opportunities while their mothers can pursue work or training opportunities without worry. It is a step toward ensuring gender equity in rural livelihoods.
RWS strongly believes that educating girls transforms entire communities. We run awareness campaigns, support scholarship programs, distribute school kits, and set up coaching and tuition centers to encourage education among girls, especially in remote villages. Our aim is to reduce school dropout rates and promote equal access to quality education for every girl child in Nagaland.
We assist in the formation and strengthening of women-led Self Help Groups (SHGs) by providing training, micro-financing guidance, and support to initiate group-based income-generating activities. RWS helps SHGs access government schemes, build local markets, and cultivate entrepreneurship among rural women to uplift their socio-economic status.
RWS organizes regular community health education sessions and sanitation campaigns to promote personal hygiene, maternal and child health, menstrual health, immunization, and disease prevention. We also conduct village-level health camps and awareness drives on HIV/AIDS, nutrition, and safe drinking water to ensure healthier rural communities.
We encourage the holistic development of youth and children by organizing rural sports meets, leadership camps, and motivational workshops. These programs are aimed at promoting physical fitness, confidence-building, and social inclusion among youth, with a special focus on empowering young girls through sports and team-based activities.
(Social Forestry, Plantation, Waste Management) RWS is committed to preserving the natural environment of Nagaland. We conduct plantation drives, promote social forestry, and educate communities about the importance of biodiversity, waste management, and sustainable living practices. Our programs help villagers establish nutritional gardens, protect local forests, and maintain eco-balance for future generations.
